Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin visits India to enhance naval cooperation and defense ties.

Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin, Inspector of the Royal Moroccan Navy, undertook an official visit to India from November 24 to 27, 2025, aimed at reinforcing maritime cooperation and boosting bilateral naval engagements. This visit included discussions with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, on enhancing naval collaboration, structured training exchanges, and sharing maritime domain awareness, thereby signifying a growing strategic partnership between the two navies. Notably, Rear Admiral Tahin also met Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff, to explore deeper military cooperation and professional exchanges, reflecting India’s broader outreach to strengthen defense ties with African nations. The visit builds on prior engagements, including India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s trip to Morocco in September 2025, which inaugurated Tata Advanced Systems Maroc’s defense manufacturing facility, marking a significant milestone in India’s collaborative defense initiatives under the “Make in India” framework. This deepening military relationship underscores both countries’ commitment to enhancing peace and security, with a Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation enabling joint exercises and capacity-building efforts, ultimately showcasing India’s emerging role in global defense partnerships.
