Indian Army Restores Sight to Thousands at Jammu Border Mission

The Indian Army, under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavna, recently conducted a transformative medical mission at the Jammu and Kashmir border, performing over 2,000 complex eye surgeries to restore sight for civilians affected by cross-border shelling. The initiative, led by Major General Sanjay Sharma and renowned ophthalmic surgeon Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, involved extensive outreach to remote areas, screening more than 1,500 individuals, including soldiers and local residents. The operation not only demonstrated the Army’s commitment to humanitarian aid but also highlighted the resilience and bravery of the local population, fostering hope in a region often overshadowed by conflict. This humanitarian effort underscores India’s dedication to providing care and support to its border communities amidst challenging circumstances.
