Defence Estates Organisation wins award for exceptional water conservation efforts.
The Defence Estates Organisation, under the Ministry of Defence, has been awarded the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari 1.0 Award for its outstanding contributions to water conservation during the National Water Conservation Ceremony. This recognition highlights the organisation’s effective inter-departmental collaboration and community engagement, which have successfully promoted large-scale water conservation initiatives, groundwater recharge, and the revival of traditional water bodies. Through innovative strategies and community participation, the Defence Estates Organisation has aligned with the Government of India’s vision for a sustainable water future, aiming to create 10 million water conservation structures under the upcoming JSJB 2.0 initiative.
