Indian Army Hosts Women's Cricket Championship Final in North Kashmir
The 5th Edition of the North Kashmir Women’s Cricket Championship concluded on November 7, 2025, at Hirri, Kupwara, organized by the Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers. Featuring 16 teams with 280 players from Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipora, the championship culminated in a final where Handwara Titans triumphed over WCC Kupwara. Nusrat Irshad of Handwara was named Player of the Series for her outstanding performance. The Commanding Officer emphasized the importance of sports in empowering youth, particularly women in remote areas, as a means to combat societal issues. This initiative by the Indian Army underscores its commitment to fostering sports culture and supporting women’s empowerment in North Kashmir.
