Kaynes Semicon launches India's first commercial multi-chip module in Gujarat.
Kaynes Semicon has successfully rolled out India’s first commercial multi-chip module, delivering 900 Intelligent Power Modules (IPM5) to California-based Alpha & Omega Semiconductor. This sophisticated power device integrates 17 individual dies, marking a significant advancement in India’s semiconductor capabilities under the India Semiconductor Mission 1.0 initiative. The state-of-the-art facility in Sanand is designed for high-volume production, with plans to scale up to 6.3 million chips per day by January 2026. This achievement not only enhances India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities but also positions the nation as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, reducing reliance on imports and bolstering the Make in India initiative, thereby reinforcing India’s aspirations in advanced electronic manufacturing and export.
