In a significant initiative aimed at sustainable development, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the State Government, has inaugurated Project Roshni in Keran village near the Line of Control, providing clean energy, fuel, and water solutions to the border community. The project, part of the PM Surya Ghar and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, includes solarization of households and the provision of LPG connections, enhancing living conditions and reducing health risks. Additionally, a water filtration plant developed with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre ensures safe drinking water for residents. This multifaceted approach not only improves the quality of life but also boosts local tourism, showcasing India’s commitment to uplifting border communities while fostering resilience against challenging climatic conditions.
