Air Chief Marshal arrives in vintage Ford Galaxie at Air Force Day.
During the Air Force Day celebrations at Hindon Air Base in Uttar Pradesh, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh made a remarkable entrance in a vintage 1960s Ford Galaxie V8, previously an official staff car for Indian Air Force chiefs. This classic vehicle, noted for its powerful 6.4-litre V8 engine and iconic design, was used from 1969 to 1992 and is now preserved at the Palam Air Force Museum, brought out for special occasions. The event signifies not only a tribute to the rich history of the Indian Air Force but also reflects the leadership’s connection to its heritage, enhancing national pride and unity within the armed forces. Such displays underscore the importance of tradition in fostering a sense of identity among personnel and the public.
