The recent floods in Punjab have resulted in 29 fatalities and affected over 2.56 lakh people, primarily due to the swollen Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers. The disaster has impacted 96,061 hectares of farmland and has caused significant infrastructure damage, with over 1,044 villages affected across 12 districts. Emergency response efforts include the deployment of 20 National Disaster Response Force teams, alongside the Army and local police, working diligently to rescue and safeguard residents.
