Kulasekarapattinam launch complex to be ready by December 2026

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to complete the Kulasekarapattinam launch complex by December 2026, aiming for 20-25 satellite launches annually. This facility, covering 2300 acres, will support the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), which can carry 500 kg payloads to 400 km altitudes. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan confirmed that the Prime Minister will announce the launch date, with initial launches targeted for late next year. This expansion signifies India’s commitment to enhancing its satellite launch capabilities, complementing the existing facilities in Sriharikota, and reflects a strategic move towards becoming a global leader in space technology and satellite deployment.
