Two soldiers martyred, two injured in ongoing J&K anti-terror operation
Two Indian Army soldiers were martyred, and two others injured during an ongoing anti-terror operation in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, which has now entered its ninth day. This operation, named Operation Akhal, was initiated following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Akhal forest area. While initial exchanges of fire led to the death of two terrorists, the identities of these militants remain unconfirmed. The operation has witnessed extensive use of technology, including drones and helicopters, alongside ground forces, to ensure the remaining terrorists are neutralized. Senior officials, including the J&K Police chief, have been closely monitoring the situation, reaffirming the Army’s commitment to dismantling the terrorist ecosystem in the region. The Indian Army emphasizes the importance of coordinated, intelligence-backed operations that target not only armed terrorists but also their logistics, including drug networks, believed to fund terrorism. This sustained effort underscores the Indian defense forces’ resolve to maintain security and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing their operational capabilities in combating terrorism effectively.
