NIA reveals TRF's foreign funding, tightening FATF scrutiny on Pakistan.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has uncovered a foreign funding trail linked to The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Taiba, which the U.S. has designated as a terrorist organization. This revelation strengthens India’s case against Pakistan in the battle against terror financing, crucial for reshaping Pakistan’s reputation with the FATF. Investigations reveal that operatives like Sajad Ahmed Mir in Malaysia facilitated substantial funds for TRF activities, underscoring the network’s international dimensions. The TRF, established to mask its Pakistani origins, aims to mislead the global community about the nature of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, but India’s efforts to expose this duplicity are gaining momentum.
