Six militants arrested in Manipur; arms seized in security operations.
Security forces in Manipur arrested six hardcore militants from four banned outfits—People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM), and People’s Liberation Army (PLA)/Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)—across Kakching, Bishnupur, and Imphal West districts on December 16-17, 2025. Operations yielded an AK series rifle, US-made MA-3 MK-II rifle, INSAS rifle, .315 rifle, ammunition, and mobiles, targeting extortion from contractors, traders, and officials. This marks 11 militants nabbed in 48 hours, alongside drug peddler arrests, exposing militancy-narcotics links near Myanmar borders. From India’s strategic lens, these seizures disrupt foreign-sourced arms flows, bolstering valley security amid ethnic tensions and thwarting insurgent destabilization in the Northeast.
