Shopian Police detains three OGWs under PSA to safeguard regional security.

In a significant move to enhance regional security, police in Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir, have detained three overground workers (OGWs) of terrorists under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The individuals, identified as Owais Ahmad Lone, Mashooq Ahmad Shah, and Subzar Ahmad Gani, were found to be repeatedly involved in activities detrimental to state security, continuing their unlawful actions despite preventive measures. Following the completion of legal formalities, detention orders were issued by the District Magistrate, leading to their custody and subsequent lodging at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in Jammu. The Shopian police emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region, highlighting ongoing coordinated operations against terrorists, their supporters, and associated criminal activities, including drug smuggling and hawala transactions. This proactive approach aims to dismantle the support networks for terrorism and underscores the state’s determination to combat elements that threaten stability and safety in Jammu and Kashmir.
