Security Forces Dismantle Terrorist Hideout in J&K Forest
Security forces recently dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Gogaldara-Danwas forest area of Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, recovering a pistol, ammunition, a grenade, and medical supplies. This operation was part of intensified counter-terrorism efforts across the region amid ongoing security challenges. Concurrently, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command, reviewed the counter-terrorism grid in South Kashmir on August 7, 2025. He was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational readiness, and ongoing operations, commending the troops for their resilience and dedication to maintaining peace and security. These events coincide with a prolonged operation in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, where security forces continue a fierce gunfight with terrorists in difficult forest terrain, marking one of the longest-running counter-terror operations in the area. The operations highlight the military’s sustained commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring regional stability.
