Gujarat police arrest cyber slavery mastermind linked to Pakistan.

Gujarat police have arrested Neel Purohit, also known as ‘The Ghost’, the alleged mastermind behind a sophisticated cyber slavery racket linked to Pakistani and Chinese networks. Purohit was taken into custody along with two accomplices as part of an operation by the Gujarat Cyber Centre for Excellence. He is accused of orchestrating the trafficking of over 500 individuals from various countries, including India and Sri Lanka, to cyber slavery centers in Myanmar and Cambodia, where victims were coerced into committing online frauds, including phishing and crypto scams. Authorities revealed that Purohit managed more than 126 sub-agents and was in contact with over 30 Pakistani agents, exploiting social media platforms to lure victims with false promises of lucrative data entry jobs. This operation underscores the growing concerns over international cybercrime and human trafficking, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures and international cooperation to combat such illicit activities.
