Gujarat ATS arrests three plotting terror attacks, seizing weapons and chemicals.
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested three suspects on November 9, 2025, for conspiring to execute terrorist attacks across India, including in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Delhi. The arrested include Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, a Hyderabad-based doctor with ISIS Khorasan Province (ISKP) links, along with two Uttar Pradesh-based suspects, Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammad Sahool. The ATS seized weapons including two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and around four liters of castor oil used in making ricin poison, a highly lethal toxin. The suspects were intercepted near Adalaj Toll Plaza on the Ahmedabad-Mehsana highway after prolonged surveillance. The terror module, allegedly directed by ISKP operatives from Afghanistan and linked to Pakistan-based handlers, was in the advanced stages of preparing mass casualty attacks employing toxic chemical weapons. The arrests reflect India’s persistent security challenges from transnational jihadist groups and underline Gujarat’s strategic importance in counterterror operations.
