BSF Enhances Winter Strategy to Counter Pakistan-Based Terrorist Infiltration
The Border Security Force (BSF) has implemented an enhanced winter strategy to counter infiltration attempts by Pakistan-based terrorist groups, particularly Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Intelligence reports indicate these groups are regrouping after significant losses sustained during Operation Sindoor in May 2025, when India launched precise strikes against terrorist camps in Pakistan following a deadly attack in Pahalgam. BSF Inspector General Shashank Anand said that despite the challenges posed by heavy fog in winter, the force is on high alert, using advanced surveillance technologies including night-vision systems and drone-mounted radars along the International Border and Line of Control. The BSF maintains close coordination with other agencies, sharing intelligence to thwart infiltration. Although the ceasefire between India and Pakistan remains in effect since May, the BSF is prepared for immediate retaliation against any provocation under a government-sanctioned response policy. This robust posture reflects India’s commitment to regional security and modernized defense capabilities. The BSF also plans community engagement events to bolster border area resilience during the winter months.
