Yogi Adityanath and CDS Anil Chauhan to inaugurate Gorkha Museum on Sept 4 in Gorakhpur.

The Uttar Pradesh government, alongside Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, will lay the foundation for the Gorkha Museum on September 4 in Gorakhpur, dedicated to honoring Gorkha soldiers’ heroism. This initiative aims to beautify the existing Gorkha War Memorial and construct the museum, costing over Rs 44 crore, enabling public access to the legacy of Gorkha warriors, who have significantly contributed to the Indian Army, especially during the World Wars. The Gorkha Recruitment Depot, established in 1866 and the oldest of its kind, emphasizes the pride and valor of these soldiers, with over 40,000 Gorkha personnel currently serving, thus reinforcing India’s rich military heritage.
