Uttarakhand CM Announces Rapid Expansion of Airports to International Standards
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the rapid progress towards expanding Pantnagar and Dehradun Airports to international standards, emphasizing the strategic significance of Chinyalisaur Airport for the Char Dham Yatra. The Indian Air Force will manage the airstrips at Chinyalisaur and Gauchar, enhancing both local connectivity and defense capabilities in border areas. The state government also plans to expand Pithoragarh Airport with an investment of Rs 450 crore. In addition, new helicopter services are set to launch under the Udan scheme, reinforcing the commitment to improving air services while promoting local products and fostering economic growth in the region.
