Modi to Navy Chief: Your chance for action will come after ceasefire.

Following the recent ceasefire with Pakistan on May 10, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a meeting with top military commanders, humorously told Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi that although the Navy’s planned BrahMos missile strike on Karachi was called off at the last moment, “your turn will come.” The ceasefire followed Operation Sindoor from May 7 to 10, during which the Indian Air Force destroyed key Pakistani military assets such as fighter jets and radar systems, and the Army used advanced artillery to press Pakistani troops. The Navy had been poised to strike Karachi but held back due to a peace request from Pakistan. Modi’s approach grants operational autonomy to the military services and shows readiness to face any Pakistani repercussions, including missile strikes on Gujarat. Meanwhile, the Indian and Pakistani navies are scheduled to conduct separate drills in the Arabian Sea on August 11-12, reflecting ongoing tensions despite the ceasefire. The ceasefire remains in effect with continued diplomatic and military communications between the two countries.
