Indian Army Hosts Sports Events to Honor Major Dhyan Chand

The Indian Army organized a week-long sports event in Jhansi to honor hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, featuring a special sports meet for differently-abled children in collaboration with local institutions. Twenty-five specially-abled students showcased their skills in various sports, promoting inclusivity in athletics. A hockey camp for school students further emphasized skill development, culminating in the recognition of Arjun awardee Ashok Kumar during a ceremony. The General Officer Commanding highlighted the essence of sports in building health, discipline, and unity, underlining the Army’s commitment to fostering physical fitness and community engagement through such initiatives.
