Indian Army fosters youth sports and community spirit with volleyball tournament in Menchuka.

The Indian Army recently organized an open volleyball tournament in Menchuka, Arunachal Pradesh, under the theme “Spikes, Serves & Camaraderie,” showcasing its commitment to community engagement and youth sports development. The tournament, which took place from November 26 to 29, featured 14 teams comprising school and club boys and girls, engaging in competitive matches before an enthusiastic audience. Minister P. D. Sona attended the closing ceremony, encouraging participants to embrace sports and teamwork. This initiative, part of Operation Sadbhavna, highlights the Army’s dual role as a national defender and a promoter of social development in remote areas, fostering inspiration and joy among young athletes in the region.
