Eight Arrested in UP for Forging Aadhaar Cards for Foreigners
The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested eight individuals involved in a racket that forged Aadhaar cards for foreign nationals, including Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. The gang utilized both electronic and manual methods to create fake documents across nine states, charging between Rs 2,000 and Rs 40,000 for each card. They circumvented regulations by issuing forged certificates for those over 18 to obtain Aadhaar cards, which were later used to secure passports and access government schemes. This operation highlights the vulnerabilities in India’s identification systems and underscores the need for enhanced security measures to protect national integrity.
