ARM Launches 2nm Chip Design Facility in Bangalore, Boosting India’s Tech Position

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the inauguration of ARM’s new facility in Bangalore, which will design advanced 2nm chips for AI servers and drones, highlighting India’s growing role in the semiconductor supply chain. This milestone positions India as one of the few countries undertaking 2nm design work, alongside partnerships with global leaders like ASML and IBM. The India Semiconductor Mission aims to enhance local manufacturing capabilities, having already announced several semiconductor units, while the focus on talent development is set to bolster the nation’s technological prowess. This strategic move signifies India’s ambition to become a global hub for cutting-edge technology.
