Anmol Bishnoi seeks court protection from threats by Pakistani gangster.
Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has sought court protection from threats by Pakistani gangster Shehzad Bhatti, citing fears for his life following threatening social media posts. On November 27, Anmol’s legal counsel filed a plea requesting armed police protection during his transit from the NIA headquarters to court, as well as bulletproof vehicle and jacket usage. The plea referenced a March 2025 grenade attack in Jalandhar linked to the same Pakistani gangster, underscoring a pattern of real-world violence following online threats. On November 29, a Special Judge held court at the NIA headquarters—a rare move—to hear the plea and extended Anmol’s custody until December 5. Anmol, deported from the US on November 18, is accused in several high-profile cases, including the 2024 killing of NCP leader Siddique and the Sidhu Moosewala murder, with the NIA investigating an international crime network possibly linked to arms supplies from Pakistan. This case highlights ongoing cross-border criminal and terror syndicate threats facing India’s internal security.
