The National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched SHEServes, a program designed to inspire young women to pursue careers in India’s defense forces, with its inaugural event held in Ranchi. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth emphasized the importance of such initiatives to enhance women’s participation in sectors that require discipline and leadership. NCW chairperson Vijaya K Rahatkar highlighted the program’s goal of raising awareness about opportunities in the armed forces, including necessary preparations for aspiring candidates. The commission plans to conduct approximately 150 similar programs across aspirational districts to promote engagement and mentorship for women, aiming to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity.
