IAF Chief Visits Injured Hero of Operation Sindoor in Pune

Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh visited Pune’s Artificial Limb Centre on August 13, 2025, to meet Corporal Varun Kumar, who was injured during Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 as a response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. During the visit, the IAF Chief interacted with other patients and commended the centre’s staff for their dedication. Operation Sindoor, a significant military response targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, resulted in over 100 terrorists eliminated and key tactical strikes without crossing international borders. Concurrently, on August 12 and 13, he also visited the family of Sergeant Surendra Kumar, a martyr of the operation, in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, honoring the sacrifices made. The operation and its participants have been recognized with high gallantry awards announced ahead of Independence Day 2025, demonstrating India’s evolving defense capabilities and resilience.
