Rajnath Singh highlights need for armed forces to counter unconventional threats.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Combined Commanders Conference, emphasizing the need for the armed forces to prepare for unconventional threats, including information and biological warfare. He announced the formation of a committee to develop a realistic action plan for Project Sudarshan Chakra, aimed at enhancing India’s defense capabilities through a technology-friendly approach. Singh highlighted the importance of jointness and collaboration with the industry, asserting that self-reliance is essential for strategic autonomy. The Minister also mentioned upcoming advancements like indigenous engines for fighter jets and the testing of new interceptors under Project Kusha as part of a layered missile defense initiative, reinforcing India’s commitment to modernizing its defense strategies.
