Punjab Police is enhancing security along the India-Pakistan border by installing 2,367 CCTV cameras at 585 locations, backed by an estimated investment of Rs 49.58 crore. This initiative is part of a broader Vision 2026 aimed at modernizing the police force, which includes expanding the Anti-Drone System from three to nine units and improving emergency response systems to cut response times significantly. The state government has invested over Rs 800 crore in police modernization over three years, with plans for a mega infrastructure project worth Rs 426 crore to bolster policing capabilities, including new facilities and upgraded technology to combat narcotics and enhance overall efficiency. This comprehensive strategy underscores Punjab’s commitment to security and law enforcement in a region facing significant challenges.
