Indian Navy's demonstration paves way for integrated theater command.

The Indian Navy is set to showcase its maritime capabilities with a grand demonstration at Shangumugham beach on December 3, just ahead of Navy Day on December 4. This event will include an impressive display of various warships and advanced naval assets, featuring India’s indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, alongside aerobatic maneuvers and simulated counter-terror operations. The demonstration is part of the preparations for establishing an integrated theatre command in Thiruvananthapuram, which will unify the operations of the Navy, Army, and Air Force to enhance defense preparedness in the strategically significant Indian Ocean Region. The upcoming integrated command will facilitate coordinated responses to multi-domain threats, reinforcing India’s maritime strength and self-reliance. The event underscores the evolution of India’s national security strategy, emphasizing jointness among the armed forces and demonstrating the Navy’s readiness to act as a “Preferred Security Partner” in regional maritime security initiatives.
