Indian Naval Ships INS Rana and INS Jyoti have arrived in Colombo to participate in the 12th edition of the Sri Lanka India Naval Exercise (SLINEX-25) from August 14 to 18, 2025. This bilateral exercise, established in 2005, aims to enhance interoperability and maritime cooperation while exchanging best practices. The event includes a Harbour phase with professional interactions and cultural exchanges, followed by a Sea phase featuring tactical naval drills. SLINEX-25 underscores India’s commitment to strengthening maritime ties with Sri Lanka, aligning with its MAHASAGAR policy for collaborative regional security and growth, thus reinforcing India’s strategic presence in the Indian Ocean region.
