Army Reviews Security in Manipur Ahead of PM Modi's Visit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s potential visit to Manipur on September 13, the Army, led by Lt Gen Abhijit S. Pendharkar, has reviewed the security situation across various districts, including Churachandpur and Imphal. This visit comes in light of recent ethnic violence and ongoing President’s Rule in the state. The Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate significant projects, including a new railway line in Mizoram, and local administrations are preparing for the visit with stringent security measures, including a ban on drones in Churachandpur. This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to restoring stability in the region amid ongoing challenges.
