Trump endorses controversial peace plan favoring Russia's demands on Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump has endorsed a contentious 28-point peace plan for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, reportedly designed to secure concessions from Kyiv that align closely with Moscow’s demands. The proposal, conveyed by Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, requires Ukraine to surrender territory in the Donbas, significantly reduce its military capacity, and disallow foreign troops on its soil, while recognizing the Russian language and church within Ukraine. Ukrainian officials have dismissed the plan as heavily biased in favor of Russia and a potential threat to Ukraine’s sovereignty, viewing it as an attempt by Moscow to regain ground militarily lost during the conflict. This development reflects shifting political dynamics in Kyiv, where internal pressures may prompt negotiations on terms previously deemed unacceptable.
