INS Savitri docks at Seychelles, enhancing maritime cooperation and security.

Indian Naval Ship (INS) Savitri, an indigenously built Offshore Patrol Vessel, docked at Port Victoria, Seychelles on November 21, 2025, marking a significant milestone in India-Seychelles maritime cooperation. The vessel was warmly welcomed by the Seychelles Coast Guard, reflecting strong bilateral relations. During the visit, INS Savitri handed over essential spares to the Seychelles Coast Guard and conducted professional exchanges, sharing best practices to enhance operational readiness. The ship, alongside Seychelles personnel, commenced joint surveillance of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), aimed at bolstering maritime security and situational awareness in the region. This deployment aligns with India’s strategic vision under the MAHASAGAR initiative to foster mutual security and growth across the Indian Ocean Region, reinforcing India’s role as a preferred security partner and first responder. Earlier, on November 10, INS Savitri engaged in joint training with the Mozambique Navy, emphasizing India’s deepening maritime partnerships in the Indian Ocean.
