The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has requested Rs 95 crore from the Ministry of Defence to address its financial liabilities, which include unpaid utility bills and staff salaries. The board is under significant pressure to provide essential services to over 70,000 residents amid stagnant revenue and rising expenses, particularly due to pay commission hikes. PCB officials emphasize the urgency of this funding, stating that without it, the situation for both residents and employees could deteriorate. Local representatives have urged the defense ministry to prioritize this request, highlighting its critical importance for maintaining civic amenities within the Cantonment area.
