Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited (TLMAL) has achieved a significant milestone by delivering its 250th C-130J Super Hercules empennage from its Hyderabad facility, reinforcing the Make in India initiative. This joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, established in 2010, serves as the sole global supplier of empennages for the C-130J, which is integral to various global missions including search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. The Indian Air Force currently operates 11 C-130J-30s and has placed further orders, highlighting the aircraft’s strategic importance in India’s tactical airlift capabilities. This development not only underscores successful collaboration in defense manufacturing but also enhances India’s position in the global defense supply chain.
