Rolls-Royce has expressed pride in showcasing its advanced MT30 marine gas turbine technology during the UK Carrier Strike Group’s visit to Mumbai, emphasizing its role in enhancing naval propulsion efficiency. The HMS Prince of Wales, equipped with two MT30 gas turbine alternators generating 36 MW each, exemplifies this technological advancement, enabling significant operational flexibility and design improvements. With over 1,400 Rolls-Royce engines currently powering various Indian defense platforms, the collaboration aims to bolster the Indian Navy’s operational readiness and interoperability with international forces. Concurrently, the Indian Navy and Royal Navy are conducting Exercise Konkan-25 to further strengthen maritime cooperation, underscoring the strategic importance of such partnerships in regional security dynamics.
