RAFAEL Proposes 250 km Sky Sting Missile for IAF's Tejas and Su-30MKI
Israeli defense firm RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems has proposed its Sky Sting missile, a 250 km-range air-to-air missile, for integration into the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Tejas Mk1A and Su-30MKI fleets. This advanced missile, powered by a three-pulse rocket motor, offers significant capabilities for long-range aerial engagements, crucial for countering advancements from adversaries like China. The IAF is keen on acquiring 200-300 units, with initial evaluations targeted for 2026, as it seeks to enhance its combat readiness amid evolving regional threats. By pursuing the Sky Sting, the IAF not only aims to strengthen its air dominance but also to deepen Indo-Israeli defense cooperation, potentially facilitating technology transfer for indigenous advancements.
