India's INS Nistar DSV visits Singapore for Pacific Reach exercise

India’s Diving Support Vessel (DSV), INS Nistar, along with the Submarine Rescue Unit East, made its inaugural port call at Singapore’s Changi Naval Base to participate in Exercise Pacific Reach 2025, a significant multinational submarine rescue exercise. This event underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense, with INS Nistar achieving over 80% indigenization since its commissioning in July. The exercise, featuring over 40 nations, aims to enhance interoperability and streamline submarine rescue protocols, showcasing India’s advanced capabilities in maritime security and collaborative defense efforts in the region, particularly in the strategically important South China Sea.
