Indian Army Enhances Capabilities with New Special Forces and Units
The Indian Army is undergoing a transformative phase dubbed the “Decade of Transformation” (2023-2032), as announced by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi. This includes the establishment of new units such as Bhairav Battalions, which will serve as lethal special forces for rapid operations, and Rudra Brigades that combine infantry, artillery, and armored corps. The army is also enhancing its capabilities with Divyastra batteries and Shaktibaan units, focusing on integrating advanced technology like drones and loitering munitions for modern warfare. These initiatives reflect India’s commitment to adapting its military strategy to contemporary challenges, thereby bolstering its defense posture along critical borders.
