India focuses on indigenous drones to reduce foreign weapon reliance, says Rajnath Singh.

India is making significant strides in developing indigenous drones as part of its commitment to self-reliance in the defense sector, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He emphasized the nation’s intention to reduce dependency on foreign weapons while highlighting the successful performance of Rafale fighter jets and BrahMos missiles during recent operations. Singh noted the ongoing advancement of critical projects, including nuclear submarines, and confirmed the timely delivery of MQ-9 drones from the United States. The push for local manufacturing is expected to enhance India’s stature as a global arms supplier, particularly with the planned export of BrahMos missiles, signaling a pivotal moment in the country’s defense industry and strategic autonomy.
