Adani Group invests ₹7,000 crore to significantly boost ammo production capacity in India.
Adani Group has announced a substantial investment of ₹7,000 crore to expand its ammunition production at its facility in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, aiming to increase annual output from 150 million to nearly 500 million rounds. The initiative aligns with India’s strategy to bolster indigenous defense manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports, particularly amidst supply chain challenges. Adani Defence is also diversifying into advanced warfare technologies, including drones and precision-guided systems, while collaborating with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and international firms to enhance technological capabilities. This development signifies a transformative shift in India’s defense landscape, showcasing the potential of private sector involvement in establishing the country as a global defense manufacturing hub and supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
