MP advocates for a National Cybersecurity Certification Council to strengthen India’s cyber defense.

Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal has called on the Indian government to establish a National Cybersecurity Certification Council to enhance the country’s cyber defense amid its rapid digital transformation, which has led to increased cyber threats. In his proposal to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, he emphasized the need for institutional safeguards to protect India’s expanding digital ecosystem and promote standardized cybersecurity education. Khandelwal suggested that the council provide globally recognized certifications to bridge the skills gap in cybersecurity, thereby developing skilled professionals and raising cyber awareness among citizens and officials. This initiative is crucial for ensuring that India’s technological progress is secure and positions the nation as a global leader in the digital arena.
