While initial attempts at jamming have proven less effective, advancements in electronic warfare and plans for laser-equipped submarines reflect China’s determination to neutralize perceived threats. Simultaneously, Beijing is developing its own low-Earth orbit satellite system, the Qianfan project, seeking to rival Starlink, highlighting a broader significance in the evolving military capabilities and geopolitical tensions in the region.
