CISF to increase personnel to 220,000 for Naxal-hit industrial hubs
The Indian government has increased the sanctioned personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) by 20,000, raising its strength to 2.20 lakh, to secure industrial hubs planned in Naxal-affected regions by post-March 2026, alongside emerging sectors such as aviation and ports. This decision reflects a strategic move to enhance security in areas prone to Naxal violence, thereby promoting industrial growth and stability. Additionally, recruitment efforts are currently underway for over 24,000 personnel in 2025. This proactive measure underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering internal security while fostering economic development in challenging regions.
