ADE to Enhance India's LR-LACM Range to 2,000 km
India’s Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) is set to enhance the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LR-LACM), initially tested at 1,000 km, with plans to extend its range to 1,500 km and eventually 2,000 km. This missile, featuring advanced indigenous technologies such as a locally developed turbofan engine and an AESA seeker, aims to boost India’s long-range precision strike capabilities significantly. The LR-LACM’s development underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology, addressing regional strategic needs while complementing existing missile systems for deterrence and conventional strike roles, thus solidifying India’s position as a formidable power in the region.
