IAF to Integrate SCALP-EG Missile on Tejas Mk1A/Mk2 After Rafale Success

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is actively pursuing the integration of the SCALP-EG long-range cruise missile onto its Tejas Mk1A and Mk2 fighter jets, following the missile’s successful deployment during “Operation Sindoor” with Rafale jets. This initiative aims to enhance India’s deep-strike capabilities amid rising tensions with Pakistan and China. The SCALP’s advanced technology, including its stealthy design and ability to evade sophisticated air defenses, demonstrates its strategic value. Integrating this missile onto the lighter Tejas platform would significantly bolster the IAF’s offensive capabilities, allowing for cost-effective long-range strike missions and reinforcing India’s deterrent posture in a complex regional security environment.
