Two more sentenced in Vizag Navy espionage case, total now four.

A special court in Visakhapatnam has sentenced two more individuals involved in the Navy espionage case, bringing the total convictions to four. Mohammad Haroon Haji Abdul Rehman Lakdawala received a five-and-a-half-year sentence, while Imran Yakub Giteli was sentenced to six years for their roles as agents for foreign intelligence agencies, directly jeopardizing India’s national security. Their activities included communication with Pakistani operatives and financial transactions to support espionage efforts, indicative of a larger network threatening India’s sovereignty. This case highlights the ongoing challenges posed by foreign espionage and underscores the importance of robust intelligence and counter-intelligence measures to safeguard national interests.
