Twenty Naxalites surrender in Sukma, seeking a peaceful future.

Twenty Naxalites, including nine women, surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, citing disillusionment with Maoist ideology and atrocities against innocent tribals. Among them were members of the PLGA battalion no.1, with bounties totaling Rs 33 lakh. They were attracted to the state government’s development initiatives and the new rehabilitation policy offering security, education, and employment. Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan encouraged other members of the Maoist organization to abandon violence, assuring them of a peaceful and respectable future, emphasizing societal reintegration as a path for future generations. The surrender signifies a positive shift in the region’s security dynamics and governance efforts.
