Terrorism and Counterterrorism

Security operations in Kashmir lead to numerous detentions linked to terrorism after Red Fort blast.

The intensified security operations in the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Baramulla and Shopian, have led to the detention of several individuals linked to subversive networks. Authorities conducted sixteen cordon and search operations (CASOs), identifying and detaining six individuals associated with over ground workers, while two were held under preventive detention laws. The operations aimed to dismantle logistical support for terrorist activities, with searches extending to properties linked to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami and the Jammu and Kashmir Nationals Operating from Pakistan. These measures reflect a strategic approach to reinforce public order and disrupt financing for terrorism, underscoring the ongoing commitment of Indian security forces to maintain stability in the region.
